The Neurology Residency Program is invested in developing global health leaders dedicated to reducing neurologic health disparities worldwide. Opportunities combining practical, hands-on in-country training with a formal global health curriculum are available for residents interested in global health. Residents can cultivate skills and expertise in diverse areas of global health, including capacity building, neurology training and education, research and clinical care.
As part of a global health-focused flexible residency experience, residents will be able to leverage the wealth of resources available through the UCSF global health community, including global health training offered by UCSF Global Health Sciences. Although traditional research need not be a primary aim of this pathway, residents will be expected to develop a scholarly project as part of their experience (e.g., measurement of clinical effectiveness and outcomes, health care delivery and other health services research, implementation science, neurology education/training).
