Adult Neurology Applicants

The UCSF Department of Neurology has 10-12 PGY-1 Adult Neurology positions. Prerequisites for the Adult Neurology program include completion of eight months of the PGY-1 year (or more) of Internal Medicine. UCSF has 9-10 categorical positions available each year. It is not necessary to submit a separate application to the Department of Medicine for the categorical positions.

All applicants must be eligible for a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in California.

Please Note: All applicants must have a passing score on both the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step I and Step II (CS and CK) in order to be ranked in the above programs. Scores must be received and uploaded by rank list submission date.

Prior to the interview day, applicants are invited to our Wednesday afternoon didactic or Grand Rounds lectures after which they will have a social event with our residents. Thursday morning, the applicants will have an overview of our residency program followed by another opportunity to interact with our residents, and then interview with our selection committee members. We estimate you will have completed all interviews by 6:30 pm on Thursday.
